Five Steps to Start the New Year
At the beginning of each New Year most of us are hopeful for a fresh start. Here are five simple steps to make 2011 the best ever!
1. Celebrate. That’s right, celebrate! Think back over the past twelve months and thank God for the victories He has allowed you to experience.
2. Evaluate. Take some time to ask these questions.
- What did I learn?
- What went well?
- What can I do better?
3. Clarity. Clarity is extremely important. It is critical to be clear on your purpose, your passion and values. It is much easier to navigate through a New Year when you can see clearly.
4. Focus. Busyness kills focus. Eliminate clutter in your life, then identify your five top priorities for 2011 and focus much attention and effort toward them.
5. Execution. Move from planning (possibilities) to execution (accountability). Write out action steps for each month in 2011. Remember distractions lead to procrastination and procrastination means no execution. Be proactive; be known as a “go to person.”
Join me in taking these five simple steps as we begin 2011 together.
Happy New Year!
