The Power of Proximity

One thing I have discovered is there are lots of people who can help in your life or

business. The challenge is finding ways to get close to those people. The “Power of

Proximity” has proven to be true for me after nearly six years in leading a

consulting firm.

Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is a strategic location to connect with some of

the great leaders in the world. However, I must be intentional in finding ways to

have face time with these individuals.

Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Hang out where the leaders in your community gather. It may be at the Chamber meeting, Rotary, etc.

  2. Ask someone to be your mentor and meet with them monthly.

  3. Make a list of the top 10 leaders in your community and schedule a coffee, breakfast, or lunch meeting. Ask questions and listen.

If you want to learn from the best, you will need to practice the “Power of Proximity.”
