Six Faces of Humility

by | Jan 16, 2019 | Article

I think humility is an underrated quality in leaders. When leaders are humble, others follow and serve them without hesitation.

These Are the SIX FACES OF HUMILITY:

1. A Servant Leader

Be willing to do what you ask of your followers. Put others needs above your own.

2. A Sensitive Observer

Be aware of the people around you; are they sad, hurting, struggling, etc. Have good self-awareness and an ability to read the room.

3. A Good Listener

Ask good questions and seek feedback.

4. A Lifelong Learner

Look for ways to improve.

5. A Compassionate Person

Truly care about people. You can’t fake compassion//empathy.

6. A Minimalist

Make others feel more important by playing down your status. This is the opposite of a narcissist.

WHY IS HUMILITY IMPORTANT?

-Humble people draw others.

-People who are humble are open to improving.

-Humble people focus on others and not themselves.

Do you know someone who has these characteristics? We all have work to do in this area, but humility is a worthwhile goal!
