Myths about Freedom
1. Freedom is a Right
Who says this is true? As a person of faith, I gave up my rights. I have found that when we approach life with no rights, we don’t take things for granted.
2. Freedom is Free
Our freedom came at a high cost. We have freedom of expression, of religion, and the press. Living in the U.S. bubble, we forget most countries do not have these rights.
3. Freedom is Static
Who says we can’t lose our freedom? We must remember that independence must be nurtured, fostered and preserved.
The United States of America is not perfect, but I would argue with anyone who says it is not a great country. I am grateful for the freedoms we have.
I want to offer my sincere gratitude for the men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
